Dear Fellow WAPI Members:
Dr. Arti Tayade has moved our organization forward during her tenure as President. She, however, decided to step down in mid-term due to family events beyond her control. We thank her for her dedication and productive tenure. I thank you for electing me President for 2010.
We formed WAPI nine years ago and with hard work on the part of many including Drs. Raksha Trivedi, Jyotsana and Happy Walia, Dhiren Ajudia, Sanjiv Parikh, Arti Tayade, Ashish Trivedi, Usha Reddy, Rekha Sood and many others, we have made significant progress. WAPI now, like the four seasons, has four programs that are quite popular with the members. The SPRING election and educational meeting, the SUMMER picnic, the FALL one day Cat I CME program and the WINTER gala. Community outreach by Drs Sood, Reddy and Walia has increased WAPI visibility. Younger physicians are joining and showing willingness to give their time and talent to further WAPI.
Where do we go from here? Please help me answer the following:
1. How do we attract, in practical ways, more members from the potential pool of over 500 Washington physicians and dentists and other health care providers. Word of mouth, ads in county journals, brochures at the area hospitals and clinics, places of worship and commercial establishments are all possibilities and to an extent has been done.
2. What would you like to see WAPI do that will satisfy your inner mojo.
3. What do you think of an Eastern Washington (Yakima?) meeting/retreat?
Once you let me know your thoughts, I will suggest next steps.
Respectfully,
Dhanvant.
